"If Jesus Christ is God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him." C.T. Studd (1860-1931)

Worship

I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the LORD;
The humble will hear it and rejoice.
O magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together. Psalms 34.1-3

“We have not known Thee as we ought”

By Thomas Pollack, 1889

We have not known Thee as we ought,
Nor learned Thy wisdom, grace and power;
The things of earth have filled our thought,
And trifles of the passing hour.
Lord, give us light Thy truth to see,
And make us wise in knowing Thee.

We have not feared Thee as we ought,
Nor bowed beneath Thine awful eye,
Nor guarded deed and word and thought,
Remembering that God was nigh.
Lord, give us faith to know Thee near,
And grant the grace of holy fear.

We have not loved Thee as we ought,
Nor cared that we are loved by Thee;
Thy presence we have coldly sought,
And feebly longed Thy face to see.
Lord, give a pure and loving heart
To feel and know the love Thou art.

We have not served Thee as we ought,
Alas, the duties left undone,
The work with little fervor wrought,
The battles lost or scarcely won!
Lord, give the zeal, and give the might,
For Thee to toil, for Thee to fight.

When shall we know Thee as we ought,
And fear and love and serve aright?
When shall we, out of trial brought,
Be perfect in the land of light?
Lord, may we day by day prepare
To see Thy face and serve Thee there.

I met the Master face to face

I had walked life’s way with an easy tread,
I’d followed where pleasures and comforts lead,
Until one day, in a quiet place,
I met the Master face to face.

With station and rank and wealth for my goal,
Much thought for my body but none for my soul,
I had entered to win in life’s big race,
When I met the Master face to face.

I had built my castles, reared them high,
Till their towers had pierced the blue of the sky;
I had sworn to rule with an iron mace
When I met my Master face to face.

I met him and knew him and blushed to see
That his eyes full of sorrow were fixed upon me.
I faltered and fell at his feet that day,
While my castles melted and vanished away;

Melted and vanished; and in their place
I saw naught else but my Master's face;
And I cried aloud: "Oh, make me meet
To follow the marks of Thy wounded feet."

My thought is now for the souls of men;
I have lost my life to find it again,
E’er since that day in a quiet place
I met the Master face to face.

The Bridge to Life

The bridge illustration helped me to see my need for Jesus.

I hope it speaks to you as it did to me.

Bless Him

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5 Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
6 The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel.
8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
14 For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer.
17 But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children,
18 To those who keep His covenant And remember His precepts to do them.
19 The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.
20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!
21 Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will.
22 Bless the LORD, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, O my soul!

Out of the pit

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. Psalms 40.2

This is one of my favorite verses. I describes so vividly, what happened in my life. God, in his great mercy and loving kindness, reached down and plucked my life from temporal and eternal disaster. He patiently works in me and on me. He keeps me centered on his wheel and moves me where he wants. I tend to be a bit eccentric and get out of balance and unstable on occasion. But he is faithful and brings me back where I need to be so I don't fly off the wheel.

It is his goodness that makes me love him and want to please him. If you don't know him; his name is Jesus and he will save you too, if you'll only turn to him. He left his proper place in Heaven to take the form of a man. Then as a man, he suffered and died in your place.

He was buried and rose from the dead three days later. He is currently in heaven, but he's coming back soon.

If you seek him now, while he can be found, you can live with him eternally. But don't wait! If you put it off, you risk everything. Here is a link with information about how to receive Jesus as your saviour and lord.
